Great design and blade guides, but the motor is too weak. It needs at least 1/2 hp not the 1/3 hp that it comes with. It does NOT have a 1 hp motor as indicated on the web site!

I bought the same machine this week @ Sears(0921400) for $139.99 This is a solid bench top machine that set up easy with good fit finish. Bandsaw size is 701/2 inchs so not easy to find.

Very well made band saw!It has a 1/3 hp motor, not 1 hp as advertised! 1/3 hp is the norm for this size saw and works very well! A broken on/off switch happened during shipping but Amozon made good for it! I have no complaints!

I couldn't be more disappointed in this tool. It is advertised as 1 horsepower when it is actually 1/3 horsepower, and begins to stall in even slight radiused cuts.
br /
br /The weldment of the frame is of poor quality, sits on a bench at about 10 degrees of vertical. Ithought my bench wasn't level, but it is the body of the saw.
br /
br /The guide fence is useless. It has a release lever that does not release the clamp. When it is released, it does not slide smoothly left or right, but has to be removed them placed. When tightened, 2 things happen. It does not lock in striaght, but cocked. Also, the end nearest the operator lifts up so that a portion of the fence's perpendicular bearing surface lifts above the table, causing your material to sit off the surface of the table, not straight, and definitely not level with the blade.

br /I build guitars as a hobby. I have sawn 2 necks on it, 3 sets of finger boards, and one head stock on it, which is not much. I have had the saw for 6 weeks. With this little cutting time on it, the motor recently has started to die. When I power it on, I actually have to open the cabinet and turn the wheel by hand until the motor kicks in. DO NOT BUY THIS IT IS JUNK!

Damaged in shipping: Twice

The first unit they sent had a damaged On/Off switch and was missing parts. The second unit had all the parts, but once again the On/Off switch was broken, including the plate that covers the switch. It's not really the manufacturer's fault because both units appear to have been damaged in shipping. So, if you see this in hardware shop, go for it, but don't buy online.

I purchased this bandsaw based on three reviews I read at amazon as of October 29, 2005. I bought the same tools at Sears' Craftsman model for $129.99 plus tax. This tool is heavy and well built. I was surprise to set it up easily. I read that you will need to read a book to tune this up in order to perform properly. Now I am hesitant to buy a bandsaw book that is highly recommended here at amazon. Its 3.5 motor amps I think is sufficient to cut most hardwoods. Just be careful not to forcefeed. I like the lower and upper ball bearings that guide the blade. If properly adjusted, together with the correct blade tension, the saw will not wander or drift. First attemps to cut curves were very satisfying. Cuts using the table fence are straight. Also, this tool runs much quieter than my craftsman jointer (Sear's version of the Palmgren model). Little vibration is not an issue. Probably, it just needs screws to bolt this machine down. I hope I will find a blade made by Timberwolf. I read that the 70 1/2 blade length of this bandsaw is a bit hard to find. Overall, this tool is reliable, trouble-free and will last a lifetime. I am happy with this purchase, no regrets!

It has a 1hp peak motor according to Mfr. Saw has plenty of power and Amazon has free shipping so it was a better deal than the sears model. It was the only model I found in the 10" CATEGROY WITH 3 BEARINGS FOR GUIDENCE? All other used one or none! easy to set-up and cuts like a dream. Would recommend this one.
