Flawless. All the power you would ever want in a circ saw, with barely half the weight of a worm drive. The cast magnesium base is rock solid, glides easily, and adjusts like a dream. Adjustable dust chute, comfortable grips, solid trigger.pHow much did this cost again? Can that really be the price?pThis saw takes on all comers.pMy shop is fast becoming the domain of Porter Cable, and it's because of tools like this. I have a vivid imagination, and I can't think of anything - anything at all - that could make this a better tool. Highly recommended!

Powerful, light, well built and a good price

I've had this saw for several years, and use it for framing, cutting plywood (and other sheetgoods) construction and destruction.
br /
br /With a fine tooth blade and a cutting jig, I can cut down sheetgoods too large to easily handle on my table saw. The cuts are straight enough for furniture. With a framing blade, it'll cut 2x4's and plywood as fast as I can push the saw. With a junk blade, I'll go on a roof and cut through ply, tar paper, asphalt shingles and nails.
br /
br /The dust chute blows the dust anywhere you want (well, most of it) or collects it in a bag.
br /
br /It's light, powerful and durable. It's a great tool.

I purchased a porter+cable 324mag after having used a skil 5700 for about a month and met with numerous problems (frozen depth adjustment level, wobbling base plate, etc).
br /The saw is much more solid and stable, it performs flawlessly and is well worth the $129 price I have paid.

Awesome saw with all the power and features you want!

I love this saw! I looked at the Bosch, Milkwaukee, Dewalt Makita and settled on this one. It has the best balance of features, power and weight. You can discharge the dust or attach your shop vac to collect it. It's not perfect but it collects 80% of the sawdust, which is great if you have to use it indoors. I also like the tooless blade change and the heavy duty sole plate. A great tool with lots of power {whoa whoa}. I wish the carrying case had storage for a few spare blades but that's my only complaint.

The reason I selected this saw is that I had decided to get a circular saw and router precision guide system for my home shop. I have so little room that table tools are a problem. Anyway, while looking at the precision guide systems, I noticed that every single vendor pictured their guide system being used with this saw. I asked a couple of them about that and was told that the precision, power, ability to plunge cut and dust collection (if you hook it to a vacuum) rivals the Festool at less than half the price. So I got one and I am extremely pleased with it.

Great saw at an even greater price -- a cut above the rest

After my last Black and Decker toy bit the dust -- in the middle of a small backyard fence job -- I swore that I had finally learned my lesson with cheap, 3-month wonder immitation power tools.
br /
br /So after shopping around for a quality replacement, I finally settled on the Porter-Cable. The fact that I didn't have to pay a quality price for it on Amazon was an added bonus. I can't believe how much saw just a little more money can buy.
br /
br /After using this lightweight, well-balanced, powerhouse for the first time last weekend, I'm already spending more time looking around the ranch for new projects than I was previously in avoiding them.
br /
br /One of the problems I'd always had with the cheap saws was the even cheaper blades that came with them. After only a few uses, it was usually used up. Ripping a board was always a hit-or-miss exercise in frustration. Until now. This P-C made me look good the first time out with a line so true it appeared as if I did it on a table saw. And as for power, I sliced right through a pressurized 4x6 like a hot knife through butter. Sweet.
br /
br /I didn't buy this saw for the blade-change system, but it's nice to know that when the time -- or the right job -- comes around it will be a snap to swap it out. To me, that's just another example of the well-planned design that went into this outstanding American-made product.

This was the first PC tool that I bought. It is very well designed and I am most pleased with it. The grips are comfortable and stable and the magnesium frame makes it quite handy. I've used it to cut a variety of materials including hard woods, plywood, and softwood, with the occasional unexpected concealed nail thrown in. It just chews through everything as fast as I can push it. The controls are nice and the adjuster for depth is very good, I can really control exactly how deep a cut I get. The case it comes with is a nice bonus and even has a slot to keep the manuals. The quality of this tool has made me a PC fan and I now own 6 different PC power and air tools.

I bought this saw to use in cutting plywood sheets and finishing work since my table saw is not very big. This saw is both light and powerful, and has been a workhorse for me. The tool-free adjustment levers are outstanding and easy to set. Likewise the tool-free arbor for quickly changing blades without a wrench.
br /
br /The Porter Cable "Razor" combination blade is great for framing and such, but I didn't care for the splintering in plywood. So, I bought a Freud TKR303 which is a fantastic blade for finish work.
br /
br /Overall, the 324 Mag is fantastic and I doubt I'll ever need to buy another circular saw. Heartily recommended.

Great tool, but go back to a wrench for blade change

I have found this saw to be very dependable and comfortable for professional everyday use. The only problem is with the toolless quick-change blade system. This may be fine for homeowner use, but for a professional tool which I use every day, I would prefer the old-fashioned bolt and wrench.

I was thinking about buying a cheapo saw...a 40 dollar special at the Home Depot...but I decided this would probably last longer, and cut smoother. So far I haven't been dissapointed...It's a great saw, works wonders on anything and everything it goes through. I agree the blade it comes with is best left for framing, but it does seem to be a better blade than many that come with the saw...And it came with two of them, which was nice. One I try to keep nice, and the other I beat the snot out of. All in all, not a bad saw...Hopefully it will keep on going.

My old Sears circular saw had a base too small to fit on my new EZ Fence saw guide, so I started looking for another one that had an integrated saw dust collection system, blade brake, and laser guide. I only found three saws on the market, Sears, Festool, and Porter Cable even had a dust collection system The Sears version had a laser included, but I figured unnecessary with the guide. It also looked a little "cheap". The Festool was nice, but too expensive. Based on internet recommendations I decided on the Porter Cable 324MAG 7 1/4 inch 15 AMP circular saw.
br /
br /The saw is nice and light, cutting through 3/4" plywood effortlessly with a new blade. The tool free blade change makes blade changes a snap, but requires a little practice. However, eventually you will have to get a conventional blade bolt from Porter because the blade will loosen up. Porter provides this free under warranty.
br /
br /The saw dust collection nozzle, interestingly, is on the front of the saw. I suppose this helps capture more dust as the blade is forcing the saw dust up the nozzle as it rotates. The position does take some getting used to, as you have to curve the dust hose around the saw to keep it clear of the cut. You can leave the hose leading out ahead of the saw, but you have to stay more alert to it's position. The dust collector does seem to catch most of the dust, as I had less than one dust pan full after cutting up two full sheets of 3/4" plywood.
br /
br /I am very pleased with this saw. It works quite well with my saw guide and makes nice cuts in heavy material effortlessly. EZ Guide now has a saw base specifically for this saw.

I found the Porter-Cable 324MAG Circular Saw to be a great work horse. Plenty of power and light wait for use all day. The quick release feature for the 7-1/4-inch blade makes life easy. The guide and plate are very accurate. I've used many different brands of circular saws but I find this one to be a gem.

I had been looking to replace my old sidewinder, and found this remanufactured saw to be an unbeatable value. I love the saw and only wish it came stock with a rip guide.

I bought this saw with some reservation to replace my existing Porter Cable 347's. Those saws were my favorite and I could no longer find them anywhere. I was pleasantly suprised that the saws power and design did not let me down. It appeared bulky from the pictures but the actual saw gaurds and the such are not intrusive like I thought they would have been.
br /The basics are the same as the trusty 347. Nice substantial magnesium base, light weight, lots of power etc., but the subtle improvements (angled cut to the base, built-in sawdust deflector, rubber handle, to name a few) are very nice, making this saw a joy to use.
br /Enjoy.

I have used porter cable saws for thirty years and this saw has been good until I dropped it and cracked the saw guard at the narrow, unreinforced point by the nozzle. It's junk now. I'm amazed that the engineers couldn't have realized this would happen. The saw is practically broken in half and won't cut a straight line for the life of it.
