I recently moved into a new home with all dark wood seventies molding. One of my first projects was to replace the molding in the house starting with the entry way. I purchased the saw from Lowes and set up shop in my living room. The saw was easy to assemble and easy to use. It did great getting my cuts at just the right degree for my corners. I'm not someone who uses power tools, the most dangerous tool I like to use is the electric screw driver, but I was able to use this with confidence and ease and walk away w/ all my fingers in tact.

br /the only complaint i have is the amount of saw dust that did not make it into the collection bag, but then again thats my fault for using it in the living room instead of the garage :)

Excellent product for the do it yourselfer. Can not attest for everyday usage but it fits my needs perfectly makes the same cuts as more expensive saws at a fraction of the out of pocket cost. I love it.
Great for simple stuff!

I bought this saw for cutting wood floor planks. It has been functioning perfectly. I bought a square level to make sure that the blade was square after shipping and it was spot on. Great product for the price.

This was my first real power tool, and an absolute bargin! My review echos the other comments. I made some angled cuts for window moulding (no beveled cuts yet), but I've mostly used it to cut 2x4s, even stacked. I built a stand for it so long pieces don't fall off after cutting if not clamped down (I wish the clamps would have been included). The nice part about the stand, or even if you only use this on the floor, is that the width of a 2x4 on its side is the same height as the deck, so just some scrap wood can help keep the wood in place during the cut (but maybe this is common to all miter saws). Sawdust - I didn't even attach the dustbag based on the other reviews, but rather hooked my shopvac up to the port with an adaptor and hose clamp, which helps alot. A laser guide would be nice, but hardly crucial - just bring the saw down to your line before firing it up. I would only trade this for a sliding miter as the actual cut is about 5.5", so anything wider and you have to flip the piece and align it to the previous cut.
Does what it says....

This tool does exactly what the maker says it can do. It's simple to operate and handles like a dream. It has power enough for even the most daunting tasks in the home or on the job. There is little room for error in its use and the price is fantastic for what this tool can do. I would recommend to all "do-it-yourselfers" in an instant.

I bought this saw for my husband as a gift. He always wanted a miter saw, but we just never had the spare money to get one. IHe LOVES it! t's easy to use, change angles, and makes the job sooo much easier than using the old miter box and a hand saw, or the table saw. It comes with an all purpose blade so we bought a fine tooth for cutting all the molding in our kitchen.
Great saw...if you never have to replace the blade.

then it is a major pain. The instructions seem pretty simple but the saw doesn't function that way it should and you have to take a bunch of stuff apart just to replace the blade.

This miter saw (Delta SM100M) is not the saw if you need precise cuts. The cuts in the saw I ordered would not cut consistent angles, varying by as much as + or - a degree. Using a dial indicator I found it very easy to move the saw right or left by over 1/64 inch at the center line of the blade. This, with all the hardware and locks tight. The problem appears to be a lack of rigidity in the saw arm.
Does a great job for my needs

The saw delivers the cutting power needed to cut the hardest woods. Had to adjust the tension on the table so it would be easier to set the angles. It was to tight and required force that was making it hard to make fine adjustments to the cut angle. Manual tells how to adjust the tension and was easy to do. It would be nice to be able to cut up to a 52 degree angle both ways. Other than that it is a fine saw.

I have had this saw for almost two years now, and it works great. I have built two fences, a couple or workbenches and a few other projects with it. This is a basic miter saw that does its job nicely. I have had no problem mitering and it seems to be pretty much spot on.

br /The fence seems to be square, but for my tastes I wish it was taller. My one gripe, and this may be a gripe inherent with all 10" miters is that at 90 degrees this will not cut through a 4x4. The saw leaves a small sliver that needs to be sawn off separately.

br /For the price, this lightweight portable saw is great. I love it and I will probably miss it when I upgrade, well maybe not too much.

I like this saw. Being a beginner I was not sure what to expect since this is my first miter. This saw is great!. I matched it up with a Black Decker Fire Storm miter work stand.

This is my first miter saw and I have to say that it was surpisingly easy to use. I used this saw while installing my new hardwood flooring and it gave nice sharp clean cuts. One tip is to definitely wear some goggles when using the saw. There is a lot of saw dust and it's hard to work at certain angles without it. The only reason I'm giving this saw four stars is because when making bevel cuts I was unable to cut certain pieces due to the size of the wood (only 5.5 inches). All in all, a really good saw for the non-professional homeowners.

For the money you can't beat his saw. I used it to install a hardwood floor in my house and it didn't skip a beat. It is a smaller saw, so if you are more than a DIYer, you may want to invest more in a saw. The dust bag works about as good as all the others out the, but you can hook up a ShopVac to it and it works really well. I bought a Freud Diablo blade for mine to make fininshing cuts, and I also bought and Irwin Laser Guide too which also works well. Although it is a "Shopmaseter" it is still a Delta and a quality little saw. Way better than the Craftsman or Ryobi of equal value.

Product arrived and handle was broken. I would have taped it and kept the product but when I tried to turn it on nothing happened. The on/off switch is in the handle so I never got a chance to try it. It was returned I am awaiting a refund.
