I do not use power tools in my line of work. However, I do have an appreciation for good quality equipment. I also believe that having the right tool can make even a home improvement project much more enjoyable. I bought this tool to cut some metal pipes and also some PVC pipes. Sure, I could have done the job with a hack saw. But, using a hand tool would have meant lots of patience and hassle. What would have taken a lot of time, sweat, hassle, and aggravation only took a few minutes with the Sawzall. The unit operated silently and it did not have as much vibration as I had expected for a unit with no counterbalance.A reciprocating saw is a very versatile tool even if you do not intend to do any kind of demolition. In addition to cutting pipes, you can also cut landscape timber and prune trees. Basically, you can use the Sawzall for just about anything that you would normally use a hand saw. The Sawzall came with two blades. One for metal and one for wood. It also came with a wrench to adjust the shoe. All of that came in a red kit box. The high quality kit box itself is made of sturdy, blown red plastic. The power cord is thicker than what I saw in competing brands at the same price range. The red Milwaukee kit box also seems sturdier, and there is a place inside that is specifically designed to hold extra blades. Most importantly, the saw itself looks and feels the way a heavy duty tool should. This kit defines high quality for a reasonable price. There were plenty of DeWalts, Hitachis, and Makitas at Lowe's. I chose the Milwaukee because I wanted to try out their brand. I suspect that any brand would have sufficed for my modest needs. This Sawzall might be a bit of an overkill for my intended use. However, I believe you will not regret buying more quality than you need.It is a hassle to have to drag out the orange extension cord. I chose a corded model because I wanted to have enough run time and power in order to be able to complete any project that might come my way. I was also hesitant to buy a cordless kit which would require a lot more investments in batteries in the future. If your intended use is strictly light duty, then perhaps a cordless model might be a more convenient choice. For its quality, reputation, design, package, and value, this Sawzall gets a five star rating from me. At a price of 119.99, this saw would be tough to beat. The closest competitor, in terms of power ratings, features, and price would be the Hitachi 13V. However, based on what I have seen of Hitachi's cases, I chose the Milwaukee. I place a lot of value on the design and quality of the case, as well as aesthetics.

I have an old Sawzall...it came in a metal case rather than a plastic one. Everything mentioned about it in the other reviews is true, it's a very versatile tool. It will seemingly cut through anything...my son whacked off a Master padlock in about five seconds recently. You should plan on buying blades, lots of blades! Because it's so versatile, one is tempted to undertake a cutting task with the wrong blade, which can be frustrating if not dangerous. So always match the blade to the task.

I would not advise this as one's first or only power saw. It's really not meant for long, straight cuts, although you can do them with practice. But as a second saw, for demolition, for large branch trimming, pipe and metal cutting, it's a gem. This is the right tool for so many jobs!

Known as the best.

There is not much to think about here - this is the brand the pro's use and it's for a good reason. Milwaukee sets the bar for all others to reach toward when it comes to reciprocating saws. I did my research like I always do, but this was an easy decision and I'm very happy with the saw. You'll want to pick up some blades before you start a project though. Pick up one of the variety blade sets for starters and then buy bulk once you know what you need.

It cuts metal, wood, plastic, plumbing, wood with nails, sheetrock, things burried in the ground. It's simply amazing.
br /
br /Want to take out a wall with the smallest mess possible? Slip the blade between the studs and cut the nails. Slip the blade between the top plate and cut the nails. Boom, the wall will now push out of the opening with all the plaster or drywall intact (and without all the dust you get from hammering drywall out of the way).
br /
br /Any of Milwaukee brand Sawzall that has a counterweighted motor (this is important for controlling vibration and being able to cut one handed) is a joy to use.
br /
br /After I bought one, I wondered how I ever managed to work without one.

Bought this saw to remove part of a post and beam barn which had 12 inch spikes to hold it together. It sliced through them like butter. After working all day with this unit I really appreciate how light (but strong) it is. I am an avid DIY'er and have rented the larger 11 AMP Sawzall for use with other projects, but if you want a lighter unit with real fight get this one! Another plus is that if you get it from Amazon[.com], it will arrive on time or before (as in my case) the delivery due date.

being an auto techncian for 16 years i know the value of quality tools. time is money! you can buy a lower amp tool for less money but the time and frustation isn't worth it. i use this saw for mostly for metal cutting, and it cuts like a hot knife through butter, so you know what it can do with wood and plastic! Don't get frustrated, buy quality and power-milwaukee! And for the price nobody can touch this sawzall!

for the infrequent user (once a month) or average user (major maintenance projects) this tool is rugged enough, powerful enough and dare I say indispensable. Since purchasing it I have come to appreciate the twist-lok (no chuck-key) ease of inserting a blade, the variable speed trigger, the ability to use the blade upside down for awkward positions and the light weight of the tool. No one could have told me how often this would be the tool of choice for the handyman who performs above average maintenance and construction around the home. My wife has handles it with no problems. It doesn't kick if handled sensibly and takes a fair amount of punishment, i.e. being lowered to the ground just using the power cord, rolling off the ladder, being stepped on, getting wet! it even slides into its niche in the carrying case easily the first time. the closabe blade storage pocket in the case keeps the blades dry and accessible...no more torn fingers pawing around inside a carrying case.
br /Other versions may be more powerful and necessary for heavier duty construction demands but this 10 amp version is just right for anything I've put it to.

I purchased this Sawzall to use mostly in Autobody restoration, but have found that it has many more uses than that. I have used this saw for everything from cutting out some old water pipes from my house, to removing tree roots, to cutting up scrap wood to fit in the mulcher. What started as a tool to use on automobiles for me has turned into the most often used tool in my garage. It has plenty of power for what I have used it for to this point, and Milwaukee offers a nice selection of blades for it. My only complaint would be that it didn't come with more of a variety of the available blades. Two was just not enough to have right off the bat.

This saw is well balanced, easy to use and simply devours whatever it is you need to cut. The ability to reverse the blade (teeth in the upright position) is alot more handy than you might think. I first used it to remove the entire floor of an old beer keg cooler which required cutting through sheet metal, 2x4's, screws and nails and this saw literally "ate" it up. WOW. Comes with a sturdy and roomy hard plastic carrying case with plenty of room for additional blades and other stuff. Buy it, you'll like it!

I had high expectations for this saw... meaning I had expectations that if I paid the extra $$$ for the Milwaukee it would last a lifetime and I wouldn't regret it. I do.
br /
br /The first Sawzall I purchased worked for about 0.3 seconds. It whirred once and then died. It never came back to life so I returned it for a new one. The new one works great--but I have only used it about four times and the trigger is already cracked. I think it will still function--but I hate having to get out the super glue to work on a brand new tool. I have not dropped the saw, I always keep it in its case, and I haven't even used it enough to wear out a single blade--and somehow TWO saws have already broken on me.
br /
br /The Milwaukee felt better than any of the other saws I tried, (and it was more expensive than the others) but the long-term durability just doesn't seem to be there... But maybe I just have bad luck.

Can't believe I forgot to review my new best friend!

Bought this last year and my main purpose for it, was to cut down my daughter's aluminum swing set. My wife pulled me aside one day to remind me that Kati was 21 and probably wouldn't be using it all that much, you know, her being 4 hours away at college and all. This thing was huge and took up a large portion of one side of the yard. When I put it in, I guess I feared a Hurricane (not something we regularly experience here in Northern Michigan), since I put 100 pounds of concrete in each leg hole. So, needless to say, I couldn't just put an add in the paper for someone to come by and pick it up for their kids. Long story short, I hoped that the Sawzall would be my answer, and it was. I spent an enjoyable afternoon cutting up the thick aluminum, as the saws blades went through it like the proverbial hot knife through butter. It was very cool. I have used it a couple times since, but feel good just knowing it is there when needed. Just buy it, you won't regret it!

Still the best Saw for the money.

I had to replace a 8 year old sawzall that was stolen. Since I never had a problem with my old saw I dicided to stick with the Milwaukee brand. I must say it was a good choice becouse these saws have only gotten better. Variable speed quick lock blade holder. You cannot go wrong with these saws. They are comfortable to hold simply bulletproof. I have tried other saws but the original Sawzall is still the best.

This saw is the one tool everyone needs to have...it's the tool that seems like it can cut anything that needs to be cut, except maybe for mouldings. So much power, light-weight, blade changes are way easier than they used to be, and it's an American-made Milwaukee so you know it'll last. Enough said.

I had used recip saws over the years, but never enough to really justify purchasing one, or so I thought. That all changed when I got the 10-amp Sawzall listed here. I've found this saw to be useful for all sorts of home improvement cutting chores.
br /
br /This tool is very smooth, quite a bit less vibration than I have experienced with other recip saws. All the Milwaukee blades I have tried are high quality and work well. Ten amps is more than enough power for what I need, and this models seems to be a nice compromise in weight/power.
br /
br /I avoided the big box stores after hearing stories of 'price-leader' models, and went to a tool dealer to get a reconditioned version. My 'remanufactured' Sawzall appeared to have never been used. No breakage, no complaints in the two years I've owned it.
br /
br /I'm not a brand snob - at least when it comes to deciding between the larger, reputable name brands, and have had good luck with Makita drills and saws in particular. But honestly it never occurred to me to buy anything other than a real Sawzall. Like the original Skilsaw, they're just that good.

I got the Sawzall to cut out a load-bearing wall that was collapsing around a set of French doors. I had never owned one but had used other reciprocating saws in the past (never a Milwaukee). The saw performed superbly cutting nails of various sizes, studs and metal straps. The choice of blades makes a significant difference. The Milwaukee and Lenox blades cut tons better and held up longer than the bright yellow blades (which lost their teeth easily). It's an execellent tool to have, even if you hardly ever need it. When nothing else will cut it, this is the tool you will need.

Tried Dewalt and Ryobi but neither had the feel of the Milwaukee. Also tried the hitachi, this one - I'm not proud to say- was over kill,(this one hard hitting model will throw a nasty jab).
br /
br /Decided to stick with Milwaukee and now I own this model.
br /
br /Pros - light weight, powerful, compact size, short stroke won't knock you over if the blade binds, quick change bit. Versatility (wood, pvc, copper tubing, tree limbs, nails, screws, bolts, wire, drywall, pumpkin carving for halloween, you get the picture).
br /
br /Cons - too light to use as a sledge hammer (should never do this but the thought does occur), the short stroke cuts slower, and it has a one piece cord. (Other models have the quick disconnect cord for ease of storage or replacement)
br /
br /If you are looking into purchasing a reciprocating saw I recommend this model because it packs a lot of usefulness at a reasonable price.

Knowing we were going to move on to some serious projects this fall, we did some asking around among professional craftsmen that they owe. Turns out the best craftsmen in the trade love their Milwaukee 6509-22 10 Amp Sawzall Reciprocating Saws...That was enough to convince us and we picked one up for ourselves. So far we've found it great when tearing up our bathroom and trimming thick branches away from our roof.We also felt our purchase was validated when our electrician's weapon of choice was a Sawzall for installing conduit and a ceiling fan in our first floor bathroom. We look forward to using it to get started on the do-it-yourself projects upstairs this fall. What have we like so much about it? Well here are our reactions:It has a neat "quik-loc" blade release mechanism..its installs without any tedious key mechanism, but is very secure. It's variable speed trigger works very well for a variety of situations. The only limitation we found is that the saw only comes with two blades...metal and wood. For owners of old homes, we're recommend getting special plaster blades. 10 amps is great power, even for the heavier duty work of cutting plaster & lathe. So if you're looking for a sturdy multi-purpose cutting tool you couldn't go wrong with this one.

This is my first reciprocating saw, so I don't have experience with others to compare to. However, for a novice like myself, I found it extremely easy to learn how to use this tool. The instructions which come with it are quite adequate and well written. The Quik-Lok tool-less blade clamp is a fantastic feature of this saw, since my first use (a demolition task) required switching the blade between fore and reverse positions. Quik-Lok made this part of my job a breeze. The power cord is an ample length as well...not something I can say with many power tools on the market today.
br /
br /The saw comes with 2 blades, one for wood, and one for metal. I could have hoped for a broader blade selection to come with it, but blades are easy to come by at any hardware store. I purchased a 12 blade Dewalt brand set of blades at the same time I purchased this saw from Amazon. The red Milwaukee toolbox that comes with this saw has room inside to also store my new blade set. The box is sturdy and has two metal latches to secure it.
br /
br /Although this saw does have a comparatively light weight to power ratio, it is still definitely a heavy-duty tool. I'm certain this saw will hold up well on any jobsite. I'm personally glade I chose a corded model of saw, as the battery weight of a cordless one would make any overhead use of the saw very tiring.

Milwaukee makes a good sawzall. I have used milwaukee sawzalls on everything you might imagine and have never been disappointed. Being with the fire department for 18 years I have cut cars, metal bars, coke machines, building materials, etc. so when it was time to get a saw for my own project I didn't hesitate with this saw and it lived up to its reputation.
br /
br /The blades switch out with an easy quarter turn and being on AC power it just won't quit. It's great for general work, the blades are where they make their money.

Milwaukee still makes great tools. I've heard some of their new stuff is hecho en Mexico, but this one's still made in the good ol'USA. Even being the smaller of their Sawzalls, it's still powerful enough to get through 2x6s and 3-4 diameter tree branches with ease, when you choose the appropriate blades. Speaking of which, I bought a Bosch combo pack, and couldn't be happier. Milwaukee tools and Bosch blades; great together. Then again, anything with Bosch blades...

This years' 'summer home improvement project' is laying a new 600-sq foot patio behind our home. The project is something I've had in the back of my mind for about three years, however, there was always this one small obstacle in the way, and that was two steel poles set into the ground for a clothesline, right down the middle of the most level piece of property behind our home where the patio was destined to go.
br /
br /I've been wanting to have the poles removed for sometime, but was hesitant to call a professional due to the cost and the ultimate anticipated collateral damage to the lawn around the area from bringing in heavy equipment, such as a backhoe.
br /
br /The poles in question rose 6-feet up out of the ground, with the main trunks for each measuring 5-3/4" in diameter. Whoever installed these poles did so meaning for them to stay there, these were monsters compared to what you'd see in the typical back yard.
br /
br /I consulted some relatives that have experience in construction/demolition and had several offers to borrow concrete/steel cut-off saws and demolition hammers, though ultimately I was worried about being 'on the hook' for $1000s of dollars worth of borrowed equipment with which I had zero experience in operating.
br /
br /So, after some research and a trip to both Lowes and Sears to weigh some options on costs, I settled on the idea of purchasing a Sawzall and a sledgehammer, with a plan to break off a couple inches of the surrounding visible surface concrete holding the posts in, then using the reciprocating saw to cut off the poles below the ground level, where I could then fill the hollows with dirt and gravel and cover it all back up, eventually laying my patio pavers right over top.
br /
br /I purchased the model 6509-22 11amp Milwaukee Sawzall mostly on its reputation as the original and 'the best.' There were many comparable models available between both my local Sears and Lowes from Craftsman, DeWalt, Porter Cable, Makita, and Bosch, but the Milwaukee just 'felt' like the right buy, despite being a little more pricey, given the Milwaukee's generous 5-year warranty and the huge blade selection. I left Sears with the Sawzall and a 5-pack of 'Torch' blades recommended for metal cutting applications from 1/8" to 3/16" thick.
br /
br /First impressions out of the box were favorable, particularly with the feel and balance of the saw itself, and with the tool-less quik-lok blade clamp that makes attaching the blade a snap.
br /
br /The verdict on the job? This Sawzall went above and beyond what it is probably recommended/rated to do. It took a few minutes to completely cut through the 5-3/4" diameter steel poles, with most of that time spent getting that first cut started through such a broad length of steel tube, but the Sawzall with the Torch blade (and a little cutting fluid) was up to the task. Once the blade broke through the sidewall it found its way right through the pipe and out the other side in little time at all. In fact, once the posts were removed and I could view a cross section of the steel pipes, I discovered the walls of the poles were 5/16" thick, which is well over the recommendations of the Torch blade by nearly double. The blade didn't care. Not only did it go through both poles, it went through both twice each, as I had to cut them down further into halves just to get them to a manageable size that I could carry out of the backyard. Even though I purchased a 5-pack of blades and set aside my weekend for the demolition, I ultimately had both posts removed after just one Sunday afternoon, and still have the original Torch blade on the saw. While the paint finish on the blade was sheared off after one use, the cutting teeth look perfect still, even when held against an identical new blade from the same package.
br /
br /Through the entire process, the Sawzall never once stalled, locked up from being bound in the pipe, nor lost the blade in the work. Having the blade pulled out of a reciprocating saw is a problem according to some accounts I've read in reviews of other models of saws from other manufacturers, but I had no such problem here. The quik-lok system on the Sawzall is brilliant, and both holds the blade securely in the saw, yet requires only a couple of seconds for the user to disassemble.
br /
br /I admittedly bought a 'less powerful' model saw just under the expectation that if I junked the thing and ripped out the motor under the load, I'd only be 'out' $100 instead of $200.
br /
br /After this past weekend, I can't imagine anything this saw can't rip right through.
br /
br /I am sold on Milwaukee's products and the original Sawzall -- so much so that my next power tool purchase, no matter what it is, will almost certainly be a Milwaukee.

I bought the 6509 when I broke the screw down chuck on my very old, hand-me-down, blue saw. It wasn't worth the cost to repair, so I bough the Milwaukee. I guess all of the new saws have keyless chucks now. The chuck on the Milwaukee is easy to use and grips the blade securely. I don't hesitate to change the blade when it's dull and used up, or when I change materials. I also store the saw without a blade even though the case doesn't require that. (I didn't like the keyless chuck on the yellow saw. The flip lever is plastic, and will eventually wear out or break.)
br /
br /The 3/4" stroke length is shorter than my old saw, but it's not really slower with the right blade. Using the right blade for the material being cut is very important. Vibration may be a little better with the shorter stroke, and that's good for accuracy and ease of use.
br /
br /I strongly recommend having an assortment of blades in various lengths. If you're seriously cutting, buy multipacks. A sharp blade makes a tremendous difference. Also, use the correct length blade for your job. Too long, and you may cut something you don't want to damage. Too short, and you can't bend the blade when you want to cut flush or blind.
br /
br /I wish the trigger had a lighter spring, or a trigger lock, or a longer area to squeeze with 2 fingers. My hand does get a little tired holding the trigger with one finger. Perhaps the spring will relax a little over time. I'd also like a little longer throw for better variable speed control.
br /
br /The lighter weight is welcome when cutting overhead, at awkward angles, or one handed, but there's still plenty of power. Solid metal and thick plastic make for a very well built saw. I also like the plastic case with metal latches very much.
br /
br /If you do demolition all day long, then perhaps a heavier saw with more features would be appealing, but I'm very happy with the 6509.

I was disappointed in the power of this saw. It's partially my mistake for not getting the "Super Sawzall", but I saw that this was 11 amp, which to me means it should pack a punch. My older Sawzall is 11 amp and it seems to have much more power than this one. Besides this one being weak, it has a really crappy stamped metal foot that I expect will be bent in a couple of weeks work. The cord is short, and not replacable.
br /
br /For the $40 difference between this and the "Super" Sawzall, which is 13amp and has the better adjustable foot and longer, replacable cord, I would recommend going with the more powerful one, even if you only use it once in a while. If you're using it regularly, this one isn't worth your time.

I use this tool for remodeling, demo and many other jobs that seem to "pop" up around work and home. It is extremely versatile and a real time-saver. I have owned this sawzall for many years and am not careful with it. It performs and delivers as if right out of the box. Make sure that you have PLENTY of new blades and don't be afraid to throw away the dull ones. The tool-less blade change is a dream.

I bought this at Lowes for 99.00 plus it came with free blades and a 10.00 gift card during the holiday season. I agree with he other reviewer that it is better to purchase quality tools for a few more bucks that will last and the manufacturer will honor their warranty. My power tool journey has gone from Craftsman and Black Decker, to Makita (still love the color) to DeWalt, who all only have a one year warranty. I burned up the Sears and BD poducts. Although the Makita and Dewalt have still held up, as they die, I will switch to this brand. I'm just an unskilled home owner who does weekend projects, but enjoys quality tools that can make a dreaded project a joy to complete.

Sawzall has plenty of power. Quickloc chuck makes it easy to intstall remove blades.Tracks well for accurate cuts. Cut five 10' aluminum loading dock gates in half accurately, no binding w/ power to spare. Saw shipped minus the wood blade. Called Milwaukee they shipped a blade within 3 days, in fact they even sent a spare. My next power tool will be a Milwaukee even if I have to pay a little more for it, in this case the saw was very reasonibly priced.

Easy to use and gets the job done!

I just used my new Milwaukee 6509-22 Sawzall to demolish trim around an opening between my living room and dining room. The saw worked quickly, and there was no noticeable vibration. To me, this saw is an excellent value.

My favorite tool in the shop. I have put this thing through hell, whether it be cutting pipes, subfloor, christmas trees, nails, bolts, sheet metal, iron rods, etc, etc, etc. This is one tool where I wouldn't buy anything other than a Milwaukee. It made quick work of my old dishwasher when I decided to cut it into pieces and throw it in my curbside garbage container to avoid going to a steel recycling facility in town.

Awsome!

I think this is the best reciprocating saw for the money: comfortable, powerful and fast. A good choice for a hobbyist. Get one that comes with a case, like this one does. Cases keep tools and their cords so much more organized than just laying them in a pile.
br /
br /If you plan on using it where power is not readily available, then get a cordless model. I thought about this a lot because I love my cordless drill, even in the shop. But I decided that if I could only have one of any tool, then it should be a corded model. That was my logic when I bought it, but I am still thinking it would be more useful if it was more portable (battery-powered).

This is my first 'sawsall' but as per the reviews - it's a great saw. It's been used to cut metal and took down 15 year old vines like nothing. I would recommend this saw to others.

I have had the 11 amp saw for about two years and it is a very good machine. I purchased it during a cedar fence construction project and have found dozens of other uses since. My only complaint is related to my own selection decision. I looked at both the 11 and 13 amp versions and decided to save a few bucks by buying the lower powered saw. The saw has plenty of power and does not bind, but the 3/4" stroke just doesn't work as fast as the 1-1/4" stroke with the 13 amp saw. I still rate it as five stars because this drawback is my own fault.

Powerful, durable, easy to use, comes with nice storage case. The tool has the feeling of good quality and design. This was my first Milwaukee power tool, so I was a tad nervous when ordering, but I am now very glad I did.

I've been doing a lot of work on my house for the past few years. Whenever I would get some spare time, I was replacing baseboard or stair treads with oak. I never had a sawzall, so I was really making a lot of extra work for myself. I finally purchased the Milwaukee reciprocating saw and I couldn't be happier. The blades snap in and out easily, the speed of the blade is easily controlled by the trigger switch, and the motor is powerful enough to get the job done. I wish that I would have bought this years ago.

The saw was a replacement for an 18yr old DeWalt which bit the dust. In comparison to the DeWalt the Sawzall is much smoother and better balanced.

Purchased for the variety of jobs it can be used for. Also purchased the set of 9" AX blades and all I can say is you could cut a truck in half with this tool ! Very little vibration so dont buy the hype from other manufacturers about anti-vibration features utilized that they advertise to seemingly justify their higher cost. Buy this unit and I guarantee YOU will be more then satisfied.

This is my first reciprocating saw and I am pleased with it so far. The reason got this Milwaukee is the light weight and ample power. I look forward to using it to tear down my lath and plaster walls so I can insulate.

Tooless blade changes / cuts better than other 20 AMP saws / substitute chain saw.
br /
br /It deserves every star ! Yeah, it is that good, in case you forgot your chainsaw use your Sawzall instead.
br /
br /Tooless setup makes blades the easiest to change out, the weight balance is 50/50 so it doesn't strain one arm more than the other when cutting.
br /
br /Milwaukee blades can flex extremely, I've had to curve the blade while slicing that would normally snap any other recip saw blade.
br /
br /The variable speed trigger is smooooooooooth, with the fine tooth blade you can use this thing for fine craft work if you just don't like your Dremel tool.
br /
br /Milwaukee gives you a decent set of blades to start with and other companies make compatible blades including Black Decker's rough wood cutter to tree cutting.
br /
br /Our saw made quick work of a collapsed exterior house wall and a tree stump, just 10 AMPS but it cuts like a DeWalt 20 AMP.
br /
br /It is worth the money.

Most reciprocating saws now feature quick blade change mechanisms. Almost all have adequate amps. The difference in saws is whether the blade flops around in the quick change mechanism. Milwaukee holds blades firmly. Oddly, so does the inexpensive, battery powered Skill recip saw. I returned another brand with a flawed grip. Try before you buy.

The saw itself is great - powerful and gets the job done. The product description said it came with two blades. Mine only came with one, a metal blade, so I had to go out to Home Depot and buy the blade I needed. OK, a minor inconvenience, but it added several bucks to the price and I do get irritated when the product I receive doesn't match its description. The price seemed excellent for the 11 amp model with case - just don't expect to be able to use it until you do some more shopping.

Box for saw is too narrow

The saw works as advertised, but the red rectangular plastic milwaukee sawzall box is too narrow - I cannot put the saw back in the box without remove the blade. Older Milwaukee saws allowed me to do this. It seems M. feels it is "unsafe" to stow the saw with the blade still on it. So far only a minor annoyance.
br /
br /Word to the wise: its easy to cut through stuff fast with this sawzall. Make sure you know what is behind what you are cutting before you start. Hitting a water line or a live electrical line is not fun.

Milwaukee is known for their reciprocators, which is why I purchased this one for a basement remodel. I have used it about 6 times thus far. 5 successes and one failure. I attempted to cut up inch thick fiberglass ceiling tiles about 5 at a time (for easier disposal) - the blade got stuck in the tiles repeatedly. I wouldn't have thought that w/this maching. It has cut off nails and 2X overhangs w/o much effort. Good saw, but not a true saws-ALL:)
