I work for Milwaukee and wanted to give some insight on reconditioned Milwaukee Tools.

br /The earlier reviewer is correct, this is a 6523-21 Sawzall. It is labelled on the box as a 6523-81 for stocking purposes and to differentiate it as a reconditioned tool. As far as the original units having problems with faulty switches, that is incorrect. Milwaukee has not had issues with switches on these saws.

br /Milwaukee makes reconditioned tools to preform as well, and last as long as new tools. This is why Milwaukee reconditioned tools carry the same 5 year warranty as a new tool.

Just so everyone knows, this is the 6523-21, it just has a different number for stocking purposes as it is factory reconditioned. The unit itself is stamped with the 6523-21 but the box is labelled 6523-81.

br /I am guessing that the 6523-21 was originally shipped with faulty switches, as I have seen a few of these models with switch failures. I am hoping this is resolved with newer production runs and the refurbs.

this is amazing--i have used it primarily to cut up thick underground roots out of my backyard.. it is so powerful it will yank your arm off!!! never jams, cuts like a charm. you wont be sorry.

Never big on buying reconditioned. If not stated would not have known this tool was not brand new. Used a much smaller Milwaukee sazall in the late 70's early 80's for remodel HVAC one tough tool It just wouldn't wear out. This one seems as good or better, This is one BIG HEAVY TOUGH TOOL. Would not want to use for extended period of time its just that big and heavy, if not needed to demolish buildings and cut vehicles to pieces etc. I would recomend a smaller lighter "Milwaukee" sazall. This was one of my better purchases.

Have had this sawzall for a few months and so far it works great. Looked like new and sure couldn't get it at a better price than I paid on the gold box deal.

Quality product, if you do lots of demolition work it will be a time saver for you.

I think other sellers could take lesson off of Steve , After i contacted him with a small problem with my saw, he replaced it at no hassel at all. I would have no second thoughts in dealing with their operation in the future. Each sawall was like new in appearance. Great outfit Thanks Steve

Might want to review the warranty policy before buying a reconditioned tool. As stated from the Milwaukee Website:

br /Every MILWAUKEE RECONDITIONED product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Subject to certain exceptions, MILWAUKEE will repair or replace any part on a reconditioned product which, after examination, is determined by MILWAUKEE to be defective in material or workmanship for a period of one (1) year after the date of purchase.

br /Don't know if the Amazon proof of purchase is sufficient - have had problems with other "warranties" with online purchases.

br /I have other Milwaukee tools and they are without question the toughest tools I have ever used - built like tanks.

br /I'll just go ahead and buy the new tool - reviews are great.

I have had and used Milwaukee tools including the Sawzall for yrs. I own the Sawzall and only gave it four stars because the operating switch is a fatgue factor if your using the saw for an extended length of time. The switch needs to be re-designed and made longer. Other than that, it is a great, tough saw.
br / Sawzall for sale @$350.00+? (Amazon) Check it out before ordering this re-con saw. I have my doubts.
