It seems I was one of the "lucky" ones to get this saw before the west coast longshoreman's strike, so here's my opinion.pIt seems that this saw may have an achilles heel. Jet uses what they call a timing belt to connect the control wheel to the trunnion assembly that raises and lowers the blade. This belt failed two weeks after receiving the saw. Repeated attempts to get a new one have fallen on deaf ears. While I realize the effects of the strike are still being felt, I was promised one would be delivered via air freight in early November; didn't happen. After several calls and inquiries I was told I would get a call back; didn't happen. Today I was promised one on Dec 26; we'll see.pAssembly was really easy, came on a pallet, installing the tables was easy, alignment was near perfect right out of the box, I made no changes. However, upon use it became clear that the miter gauge was out of square. Amazon has promised to replace it, but I fear that it is victim to the strike also.pThe saw seems to have plenty of power, but I have nothing to compare to. I've ripped 3" cherry with no issues.pThe fence is not what I had hoped. It's not as stiff as a Beismeyer or Unifence, which is what I was using as a benchmark, considering you can get these fences on a Delta Contractors saw. However, my reason for buying the Jet was space and the left tilt. So I guess there's always a trade-off. The Micro Adjust is a marketing gimmick. Once there's a little sawdust in the groove, it's useless. The measuring gauge is also problematic. There's a bubble in the window which magnifies the tape. I believe all this does is increase the parallax error. Also, the tape only measures down to 1/16", I think most of us would like to be more accurate than this. pThe blade guard works adequately, but it is what it is. Removing it is not too difficult, but alignment with a thin-kerf blade is a bit challenging.pAll this being said, I plan to keep this saw for a long time, I may change the fence someday, but for now, it stays. I'm sure the delivery issues will someday improve, but I believe that the timing belt issue is a major one that Jet must address.

I have owned my SuperSaw for 8 weeks and I feel it is necessary to give some feed back on it. I will first begin by stating that I researched my purchase quite extensively. Initially I was looking at open-base contractor saws mainly for their price and availability. When I first saw the Supersaw I was inpressed with the quality (fit and finish) of the cabinet and table assembly. The arbor and motor trunnion are very heavy duty. It looks to me like JET took some parts from the Powermatic 64A when they designed this saw. For certain the hardware is more robust than that found on other JET contractor saws. ... pThe SuperSaw is not a cabinet saw and should not be compared to one as I have seen others do. It is a contractor's saw with an enclosed base. The table on mine is dead flat, period. The large cast iron surface serves as a setup table in my small garage workshop. The miter slot on the left side is slightly (.001) narrower at the rear than at the front. This causes a slight drag from the miter guage when it is adjusted snug at the center of the slot. Since the left miter slot is cut into the left side wing there is a potential for the slot to be out of parallel with the right side slot. My miter slots are parallel. The legs are fairly stout but they will flex (more like twist) a small amount near the feet when the saw is moved without a mobile base. They do not flex at all when the saw is operating and had I not attempted to move the saw by myself I never would have caused them to flex. Vibration is non existant with this saw. I placed 5 nickels at strategic locations on the table and turned the saw on and off without knocking any over. pThe rip fence seems to be the biggest gripe most people have with the SuperSaw. I could have designed the locking method better than JET engineers did. But that does not mean that the fence is useless. It is just not as good as the fence on the DeWalt DW746 which is the saw JET compares directly with the SuperSaw. When assembled and adjusted correctly, the fence will flex about 1/32 at the rear edge when pushed laterally. It looks worse than it is because flex across from the blade is nearly imperceptable. JET has great a product in the XACTA fence and they should have used that instead. I have cut large sheet goods and small panels without any errors caused by the fence, nontheless the fence design should be better on a saw in this price range and I am sure it will cost JET some sales.pI have my saw hooked up to a shop-vac and dust collection is mediocre at best. It is truly designed to work with a dust collector. Most of the time I simply open the cabinet and vacuum out the dust wich collects nicely inside. pIf JET were to improve the fence they would sell this saw hand over fist. Would I buy one again? Absolutely. Do I recommend it now with the current fence? Yes.

As most woodworkers, the first table saw you buy is a craftsman, then over the years you yearn for a real table saw. Cabinet saws cost too much, are to heavy ,and require 220 volts so what choice is left. Home Depot carries the Rigid brand,(a big mistake),they should have stayed with pipe wrenches. Lowes carries econo brands with their high end being DeWalt. Saws aren't cheap so I took my time reading all the reviews I could find for 6 months. Settled on the Jet Supersaw. Went together perfectly. Very little adjustments were necessary. Your previous reviews were very helpful and accurate. I knew beforehand that the fence was going to be a problem, so I tried it in the store. How could they make such a nice product and then cheapen it by giving you a "new and improved fence, NOT"? To further complicate things, If you want to upgrade to a better fence, you can't because the fence rails are attached in such a way that other fence rails will not fit this saw. Jet has such a nice product here that I am going to assume that the engineers will come up with a fence that really is an improvement over this one. The Xacta fence they use on their other products is great. Blows my mind why they did't stick with it. brI bought the saw anyway in good faith knowing that Jet engineers really do care about their products. They certainly know that the fence is the most important part of any table saw, both for accuracy and safety. I would have gladly paid more for the supersaw with a good fence.brAside from the fence, this saw is a hummer. Solid table, wings, motor, swithes etc. This is one smooth running saw. Very glad I bought it and waiting for the improved fence,(at a discount for all the previous supersaw owners who knew you could do it). To be continued.

Ordered the Supersaw in early December and it finally arrived in mid-January. The Fed-X guy came with a lift gate truck and a pallet jack. Delivered it to my garage in 2 minutes. There it sat!! The mobile base was on back order so I left it on the pallet. Couldn't wait to use it so I added the wings and fence and ripped a 2X6 pine just about as fast as I could feed it. Have a WW2 blade and the edges were smooth. Crosscut was right on the 90 degree mark. Easy to assemble and no adjustment needed. Got the mobile base about 3 weeks after the saw arrived.pFit finish is good. The wings have a few finish problems, but nothing other than cosmetic.pDust collection is great even with just using a shop vac. My new Jet 1100CK dust collector is also on back-order. But, that's another story.pNow about the foreign car part. I suspect parts may be hard to get for a while. Sorry to hear there may be a problem with the timing belt. I have confidence the engineers will correct this since this machine seems to be very well engineered. Caution, everything except the scale on the rip fence and the table slots are metric. The T slots on the fence are tiny. Won't accept the standard 1/4" nuts. Had to use 10x24 nuts to attach the router fence to the rip fence.pIf you're thinking about installing a router table in place of the right table wing, think hard. I did it, but it wasn't easy. Had to make sure the router table wasn't too thick because there is a ledge on the front rail of the rip fence that makes it so you don't have 27" of clearance all the way between front and rear rails. Also had a devil of time getting M-10x30 allen head cap screws to use when attaching the router table. Hardware stores don't carry anything larger than M-8.pI hope to get a lifetime of enjoyment(or at least 20 years) from this set-up. Love the way it sounds when it starts up. The capacitors on the motor cause it to purr like a Lexus entering an expressway. And the lights don't dim!

I like this saw a lot. Unlike the experiences of several others reviewing the JET contractor saw models, this saw came almost completely assembled and was up and running quite quickly. As far as I can tell the blade was factory aligned to the mitre slot to about as tight a tolerance as my crude measuring devices can discern. I only have a couple complaints. The fence, although easy enough to true up to the mitre slot, has a small bump or nub formed in it on the infeed side. This introduces a small but somewhat disatisfying error. An auxiliary fence would solve this. Unfortunately, most of the hardware dimensions are metric and the t-slots for the fence may be so as well, unless I miss my guess. Oh well. The only other real complaint I have is the blade guard. Blade guard complaints seem par for the course with table saws though. The splitter is hard to line up and does not allow well for thin kerf blades. Putting the thing back on after removing it for dado or groove cuts is a little frustrating. As most people seem to find blade guards this way, I guess I cannot complain too much about JET. All in all, I am quite satisfied.Update: I have had this saw for about 3 months now and remain mostly satisfied. The fence can be a little frustrating as one must check it now and again to make sure it remains in alignment. This does not bother me much as I do not have to worry about it very often. The only really displeasing thing is that the blade height adjustment wheel is connected to the worm gear for raising the blade/motor assembly by a simple toothed belt. Of course, this belt broke about 3 weeks after I got the saw. JET said they would send a replacement but 2 months later I remain beltless. This did not bug me as much as it otherwise might have because the saw remains in full service with the aid of a simple strap wrench.Further Update: JET finally sent me the replacement timing belt at the end of January 2003. I was pleasantly surprised to find a procedure for replacing this part spelled out in the manual. They left out that removing the assembly for the pully entirely is the only way to go. I noted that I could not get the belt tension back to near what it was from the factory yet it seems to work fine. I wonder if JET did not over tension the belt to begin with. I have received the sliding table and it is the best thing since sliced bread. The table does have a "U" shape front to back that amounts to less than 1/32 inch over 2-1/2 feet. I have not found it to be a problem as yet. Overall, I am quite satisfied, although the blade guard is near useless and the fence can be frustrating. Not a perfect machine but it seems to do what I need it to do. It definitely improved my woodworking as I had hoped it would.

I really like the design of the saw but the quality control and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The sliding table box was missing the hardware kit, the little bag of nuts bolts to attach it. I called Jet 3 weeks ago and they promised to send a replacement, but today they say the parts are back-ordered and it will be *another* 4 weeks. And the fence locking handle broke right off under normal hand pressure! Not only are fence handles back-ordered for at least 4 weeks, but the ones that are due in are all spoken for already. Apparently they've been breaking a lot of them and I'm not expecting the replacement to be any more durable. It's going to be at least 2 months from the time I bought the saw until it's actually usable! This seems like a great design and that's why I've given it 3 stars but I'm really disappointed in Jet's low quality and poor service.

A Pretty Decent Machine.

Like many out there it was time for me to upgrade my tablesaw so I spent many hours reviewing the various models. Because I did not want to install a 220v outlet the 3hp saws were out. A standard contractor saw was a nightmare when it came to dust collection so when I reviewed the Jet and Dewalt Hybrid models the choice was clear.br In person when I viewed both saws the answer became clear. The DeWalt, although seems to be a quality product, was far more flimsy that the Jet. The big turn off was the stamped steel wings and the dust collection. The fence was more superior but the miter gauge would need as upgrade.br The Jet on the other hand had cast iron wings, a decent miter gauge, and a 4 inch dust collection duct. At the start the fence seemed a bit sub-par. br Assembly was pretty easy but putting it on the mobile base was trying. Aligning the wings took some patience but was not unexpected. The only set back when I started cutting was the fence. Yes, I could have kept it and done just fine, but it was not up to par. My solution was installing a biesmeyer fence and after about an hour, some minor adjustments and a few holes drilled, I had a pretty powerful machine. I did lose the ability to slide my power switch and did need to construct a jig to mount it but that was of little consequence.br Thankfully, I have had not experienced any belt issues and occasionally the cabinet needs to be vacuumed but that is it.brNow with my after market fence, solid wings and a high quality blade (which is a must), sawing is a breeze.br Like many woodworkers I was impressed with the blade guard but somehow it never was installed. My tenoning jig needs a sub-plate, but again that is just a ten minute fix.br To sum up for $850.00 this is a great value. If you want to make it really something then some brainpower will be needed. Now this is not a 3hp cabinet saw but I have no complaints.

It's a good saw...

Anyone who has read any of my other tool reviews probably knows that I own the Dewalt 746. I'm writing this review for my neighbor(sitting next to me) who is too lazy to write his own. He got this saw a couple months ago.
br /This is his first table saw, and while he has used my Dewalt several times, he couldn't find one locally and on my recommendation he bought a Supersaw at our local wood worker store.
br /I helped him haul it home and set it up in his basement shop. Should have had more help (younger help) getting it into the basement, but we cheated a bit and got it down there with no injury's.
br /Took abour 4 hours to get set up and on the mobile base. That included "tuning" the saw.
br /First impressions..Nice looking unit..powder coat finish is flawless, the fit is very nice and the saw is very solid. The mobile base isn't all that great..but will do. He doesn't move it much except to clean.
br /I like the movable switch..he had to play with it a bit to decide exactly where he wanted it. I'm so use to my "knee" switch on my Dewalt, that this switch had me fumbling around till I got use to it, but I like the movable part.
br /We put a linkbelt on the saw when we were assembling it, I have these on most of my tools and he is adding them to his also. The saw comes up to speed nicely and sounds very good. Vibration is minimal, won't do the nickel test, but I think that is because of the mobile base. Still very minimal.
br /The table top, including the cast iron wings, has a very polished look about it and is very flat across the surface. We did take some extra time making sure the wings were level to the main table.
br /Dust collection seems very good, hooked to a 4" jet system, not much escapes out the top. He has installed a Tru-Cut insert. The factory one is ok, but with thin kerf blades it is only adequate.
br /The blade guard, splitter and dogs are, like most factory one's, just adequate to the job. We had to grind the splitter so it would work with the Freud thin kerf blades we both use. The split blade gaurd is kind of a pain, with certain widths of material it tends to push the outboard guard to the side instead of up. Knowing his lack of patience, the guard will probably end up in a drawer, never to see the light of day again.
br /The miter gauge is junk....at least in my opinion, he thinks it will serve his purpose's ok. He doesn't do a lot of miter work presently, so maybe he is correct. He does like my Osbourne EB-3 miter gauge, so if he wants to upgrade he know's which one to get.
br /We found the fence to be adequate. It's an improvement over the Dewalt one. At least this one is designed to accept T-trac type add ons. But like the Dewalt fence, it seems a little flimsy and took some fussin to get straight and level. Haven't noticed any flex at the wrong time, or place, and the cursor, once adjusted seems pretty accurate.
br /Overall this is a nice saw. Should serve him for many years. As to which of the two is better, I think it's like Chevy and Ford, just a matter of personal preference. We both like both saws and would recommend either one to anyone.

After one month of serious usage with my new saw, I found a two-bit belt was key to the flawless operation I had come to expect from this rugged beauty. Timing Belt woes . . Absolutely rediculous its difficulty in accessing to repair . . dealer doesn't have a clue about its short comings - unavailability of parts . . and a cheap belt no-less!! How could this critical part be so overlooked regarding reliability?? . .It shut me down and is going to be a real headache to find the part and then reassemble the shaft assembly . . The tiny set screws are soft metal and very hard to get at. I will have to drill out one of them - hope for the best. Will probably have to order a new part they sit in. Not happy anymore! . .Dissapointed.

Don't get me wrong, I love Jet Tools, in fact I have a Jet planer, bandsaw, dust collect, jointer, Spindle Sander, .... and they are a great value for the price as compared to other manufactures. So when I decided to upgrade my old worn out Craftsman, and I order this super saw from Amazon. It assembled perfect, and runs perfectly. The fence is certainly a dream to use when compared to my old craftsman fence, but I wanted to upgrade to an Incra fence, and I found out that it will not work on my Super saw and when I called Incra. They don't have plans to fix the design to work on this Jet TS. Another complaint, is that the miter slot on the left side of the blade, is an inch and a half farther from the blade. My Delta Tenion Jig is too far away from the blade to use. So I called Jet, and they are aware of this, and they do plan to make available a plate that you can adapt to your Tenion Jig, but that won't be until later this year. Still for the price and the value I do love my super saw, but if you want to upgrade to a different fence, it may not adapt. I do appreciate Amazon for allowing everyone to submit comments. It has helped me so much in my decision on what tools to buy.

Almost 3 years of use - here's my summary:

I bought this saw in August, 2004. Purchased from local machinery dealer. I knew about the belt issue for the blade height adjustment and hoped it was cleared up in mfg process. I got by and made some nice products and a little money with this fine piece of machinery until October, 2005. I did not break the belt, but spun the mechanism that holds it. You see, the lower shaft that connects to the external handle began feeling sticky months earlier. At times, I would need two hands to move the thing. Occasionally, I would experiment with another type of lubricant to wash out the dust and get it moving again. Upon disassembling, I found that the shaft and the bushing it rides in had severe wear and metal burrs - pitted like an automotive axle looks after a bearing locks up. I ruined the belt in the process, of course. I cleaned up the shaft with emery cloth, although still pitted, I figured I'd use a heavy lube and get by - if that little belt cost $10.00, I shuddered at the thought of what some new steel would cost! The local dealer who sold me the saw said $50.00 minimum parts order required, and he had no open P.O.'s for Jet equipment. Suggested I go to local industrial supplier.
br /
br / Gates rubber company offers a dead ringer for this belt for $5, so I asked for two. It's now almost April, and I've had to get by using a pliers to spin the upper gear for blade height adjustment. Multiple visits to belt store produced nothing more than lots of head scratching behind the counter. They finally called Gates, who told my industrial supplier that they offered this new belt in their catalog, but someone forgot to key that item into their production computer at the factory - March 2006 before producing any. (Such joy I never imagined when embarking on this second career!).
br /
br / I'd just about had it until reading that another equally frustrated owner bought a belt on line direct from WMH Tool Group. Yes, a $20 s/h fee stinks, but when ordering all the parts I needed, I was pleasantly surprised to see that a new shaft, sleeve and all parts I feared would be ruined during removal/replacement only cost $40 including the fees. I give up. I've ordered all related parts and hope they ship quick.
br /
br / Hard to get upset with Jet service when it appears everybody else is just as haphazard in operation these days. I don't mean to excuse low service quality - maybe this will get better when we start producing goods in this country again.
br /
br / Why 4 stars? accuracy and iron. It's smooth running, so easy to convert to 220 it is often mistaken as difficult to do. Plenty of power, reasonably quiet. Fence accuracy is just fine. If Jet had not offered this for the money, I'd have a basic contractor saw with a silly little motor hanging off the front for me to bump into each time I walked by. I'm going to deal with it. I hope anyone who reads this understands that I relied heavily on these reviews when I was about to spend serious cash, and still read reviews before any major purchase. One must realize that a significant amount of wrenching, adjusting and re-adjusting is required to keep up machinery like this, and sometimes, it takes more than we all like.
br /
br / Meanwhile, I hope Jet is also paying attention to unbiased forums and taking the hint to address these issues.

I received my saw about 6 weeks ago. No problem with the delivery. No problem with the set up, no problem with anything. The manual is clear enough, I don't know what the guy was talking about with the wiring for 240 V. All you do is cut off the plug, wire on a 240 V. plug, open the wire cover on the motor and connect the wires by number per the diagram. You don,t do anything with the switch, if you needed to there would be instructions. I set up my extension wings aligned my rip fence and miter gauge, put on a Forrest woodworker II blade and have been making beautiful cuts ever since. This is not a $2,000 saw, sure you may be able to find some things you need to fiddle with but hey, in my mind that's part of the fun. If you can't overcome a few problems maybe you should find another hobby. I got the heavy duty mobile base also, perfect. The only problem I have with this saw is I should of bought it sooner. A friend of mine at work came over to see the saw and could't believe the quality for the price, he went out to compare some other saws and found the Jet far superior for the price, he bought one too.

My SuperSaw arrived in March. Set up was somewhat difficult, but managable. My real problem came with the product support offered by JET. I emailed the company with a request for insight into how to re-wire the machine for 230V. The diagrams in the manual are, in my mind not too specific and clear. In fact, they seem to deal with only the motor and not the ON/OFF switch which must be also re-wired. I asked for help in a list of specific questions which concerned the availability of instructions, the purchase of stress plates to replace the present ones. I received a one line reply stating that the instructions were in the manual. It seems a rather calalier attitude toward customer support for an expensive machine, on which the warranty is voided if the owner screws up trying to do what the manufacturer says is possible. Anhow, I'm not a satisfied consumer and will not purchase any WMH Tool Group products in the future. If you buy, beware.

I own the Supersaw and highly recommend against anyone purchasing this engineering disaster. The vaunted dust collection system just doesn't work, even with an 850cfm dust collector. After trying to make the dust collection work and still having the wooddust thrown back into my face, I called the Tech support at JET. They told me, even before I finished explaining my problem, that they knew about the problem, that the dust collection system had not been engineered properly, and that the only solution was to cut out the bottom so that the little shelf underneath could actually collect the dust! This is not what I bargained for. In addition to the dust collection system not working, the engineering has the motor right under the saw blade so it collects the odd small pieces of wood that fall through and stop the blade movement. pI have never seen such a poorly put together piece of equiptment in all my years. The engineers, and the company management should be sued for malpractice. Don't purchase this machine if you value the joy of woodworking.

I've owned the Jet SuperSaw for two and a half years, and was initially quite impressed by its power and smooth operation. I didn't use it a lot, but enjoyed it when I did. A good quality Freud blade helped.
br /
br /Then a few weeks ago I tried cranking up the blade, and nothing happened. The dreaded timing belt problem had reared its ugly head! When I took the cover plate off (in itself a challenge), the problem became obvious. The belt had worn through and almost become severed. So I ordered a new one, at almost $10, from WMH tools, plus an outrageous shipping/handling charge of almost $20 (for a 2 ounce item - give me a break!).
br /
br /When the belt arrived, I faced my next challenge, so far unsurmountable. Following the directions in the manual, I pulled the assembly which includes the belt, and examined it carefully. It was immediately obvious that the toothed pulleys over which the belt runs had clogged with sawdust, which probably hastened the belt's demise. Then I tried to remove the recessed set screws securing the lower pulley , and I'm still trying! The manual gives no indication of the size of Allen wrench needed, but it is apparently a miniscule metric one that I don't own. I'm fearful of stripping the screws completely.
br /
br /I'm stymied at this point, and wondering whether the company has done any kind of reworking of this lifting mechanism that I should know about. The whole timing belt setup seems laughably inadequate to its task, and once it fails, the saw is useless. Why don't they smarten up and use a chain drive or something else that can shed sawdust and stand up for more than a few months?
br /
br /Unless this problem has been fixed, I don't recommend that anyone buy this saw.

SAW SET-UP: Easy, but heavy cast iron extensions. All bolts metric!!!! Best to assemble with T-handle metric hex wrenches ... Right extension side 4-bolts: Can't use T-handle, right angle L-wrench supplied; best to have 2-people attach this side.pRIP FENCE: [Weak]. Will not align parallel to miter slot when you go to lock the fence down. Top end shifts left about 1/4" towards blade. DO NOT over tighten the 4-top mounting bolts. Snug-up only. This helps a little for alignment. Best to push hard forward on the fence then lock-down hard on the black handle. Internal components needs re-design, or insatll another good-brand fence. More money.pSPLITTER: Use Dremel tool to grind down knife edge. This helps with TK blades. Anti-kick-back knifes have to much spring load and will scratch your work material. I removed them and installed (2)-two plastic blocks to receive upper swing-down plastic blade guard assembly. Not totally safe, but the guard now is solid and does'nt jiggle. A major pain to remove and re-install splitter for dado blade use. The rear black vertical steel portion of the splitter must be dead square to the blade path; if not, your rips will bind and result in inaccurate cuts. I suggest you unbolt the whole assembly and use the saw without the guard. If you decide to remove, seal up the hole. pDUST COLLECTION: You must seal the cabinet top edge from the cast-iron table top for decent collection. I used alum. foil tape. All voids, except for the front bevel gauge slot must be sealed, including the removable bottom plastic tray edges. I used construction adhesive on the bottom.pBLADE: Use Freud TK, Combo Rip/Cross 10" coated red.pThis is a definite beer-budget table saw with lots of good/bad qualities. Poor engineering here-and-there, but still precise enough for the weekend warrior. No real woodworker designed this saw; just look where how far the miter slot is from the blade. The motor is strong, and the saw is heavy and provides a very sable platform. and you don't have to wear ear muffs. It beats the heck out of any contractor's saw made by Delta, Bosch, etc. If only the JET designers just spent more time engineering a "Super Saw" rip fence...they would have had a real winner. Overall, I recommend this imported saw based on its low price, baked-on enamel finish, solid cast-iron tables, quiet and stable motor operation. But if you have the cash, buy the Powermatic-66.

i gave this saw a 4 stars because the cast iron wing on the left side would not level out properly had to grind a bit off the table to allow the wing to drop. once that was done it worked perfectly have not encountered any other issues with it. very heavy better have your strong fiend or neighbor to help you.

************ UPDATE*******************************************
br /
br /I have owned this saw for over a year now and I can say I have put it through the mill, so to speak, I still think this is an excellent saw. The fence is starting to loose it's finish where the your stock glides against it but in a year I have only had to re-adjust it to the miter slot once. The fence..... Yeah, it's not a besymere or shop fox, I still have problems with it poping off the track when you pull up on the release lever. You just have to try to remember to hold down on the back of it before lifting up on the lever. over all it functions ok and the deflection on the end has not efected the my projects or the accuracy of a clean straight cut. I may look to upgrade it down the road. I have not had any problems with the belts breaking as mentioned in other reviews. You will want to make an auxilary fence and a zero clearance throat plate with a splitter. I now think the blade gaurd is a pain (taking it on and off), it's still a good one though, but that seems to be a complaint with every saw. I use a sled more often now so the stock gaurd/splitter is seldom used. I have upgraded my dust collection and that has helped emensly although not 100%. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase and have no regrets.

After wearing out a cheap shop saw, we researched and chose the JET supersaw. It arrived crated on a palate by truck, but we were able to get it where we wanted it piece by piece. It set up easily and quickly and did not require hiring two men a boy to lift it. It works well on the stand handles an after-market add-on router table with ease, giving us a terrific set up at half the cost of the "top of the line" macho saws... we run a small woodcraft stained glass shop and it does everything we need it to do and well.

After reading about the poor customer service voiced in the reviews I E-mailed WMH to ask what they have done to improve their customer service. I gave the product 3 stars because they took only 3 days to answer. I do not own this saw. Still looking. Below is their reply.p"The problem was that there was a defect with the timing belt. We did notbrhave these in stock because these items were going through quality control, brwe did not want to keep sending out items that we knew our consumers wouldbrhave a problem with and have to replace them again under warranty. Beltsbrare not normally covered under the warranty policy however we did honor itbrduring that time. I do realize that some of our consumer had to wait for abrcouple of months before we were able to send them a new belt. However thebrproblem had been fixed and we are assured that the new machines and beltsbrare free of defects. pThank you,br brRebecca VoorheisbrCustomer ServicebrWMH Tool Group"pI may just keep my old Craftsman and buy an improved fence.
