Tried other saws and for the money this beat them all. I recently returned a Hitachi 10" with laser because the bevel gauge was falling off after only a few cuts. With that kind of quality who needs it. I then bought the Delta 36-322L, what a difference. The bevel gauge is made of metal and the miter gauge is adjustable. The twin laser is very accurate. Get a Delta, you can't go wrong.

I've had a 10" Ridgid miter saw for many years, but it didn't cut 1x8 or 4x4 boards and it's accuracy was suspect. I debated over a 10" sliding saw or a 12" non-sliding. I knew the sliding saw would compromise accuracy, so I opted for the 12" and it was the right decision. The Delta is a dream: powerful and accurate. I do a lot of woodworking and cutting accurate 90 and 45 degree angles are a necessity. This saw cuts them perfectly. The laser is right on the money. If you want a great miter saw, this is the one to get. It's a little heavy, so I'm not sure I would want to lug it around, though.

Where's the work clamp?

Although dear hubby is the actual user and he currently reserves judgment on usability, I'm quite pleased with the quality of the cuts and the excellent fit of the joints for his home theater project so far. I guess that puts me in the quality control role.

br /What annoys us is that contrary to Amazon's product description, there was no work clamp included with the miter saw. This makes working with smaller pieces of wood somewhat of a challenge to clamp down. Even if they don't have a manual to post perhaps they could do everyone a favor and post an image of the box-side description which clearly does not include a work clamp. To add insult to injury, our understanding is that it could take 3 to 5 weeks to order the part from Delta. We'll be looking around for a compatible clamp that can be more easily sourced.

br /Incidently, as mentioned by another review, the saw comes with a 60 tooth blade as opposed to a 40 tooth blade. It's also less of a bargain now that it no longer qualifies for super-saver or Amazon Prime free shipping.

I currently own a 10" compound sliding miter saw and wanted another saw to compliment it. My criteria was 12" blade, dual compound miter, and laser. Unfortunately there was nothing on the market that met all 3 items (no dual compound miter). In fact there are only a handful of saws that are 12" with laser. The Bosch was the highest rated 12" laser saw but some engineer at Bosch who has probably never cut a piece of wood in his life decided that the laser should come on only when the blade is spinning. I was amazed to find that Dewalt does not make a 12" laser saw.
br /
br /That left a Hitachi, Rigid, and a couple other brands I would not consider buying. I'm still a bit leary of Rigid products (probably an unfounded fear) and have never been fond of Hitachi products. That left me with the Delta. After reading some reviews and owning a few Delta products I decided to give it a try. I have not been dissapointed. Everything on the saw was set dead on (the fences and the laser) so no adjustments were necessary. The only con I have with this saw are that the laser switch is a bit hard to turn on and off. An electronic on/off button (vs. a switch) would be better with an off timer (it's easy to forget and leave the laser on).

Solid Saw, great value!!

I purchased this saw to replace an older 12" DeWalt saw. I am blown away at the new features. The laser, with a little adjusting, is bright and easy to see, the mitre gauge clear and precise, and the compound setting is rock solid at the front of the saw. No more reaching to the back to adjust the tilt, hooray. This saw is heavy, and I recommend it for the serious home improvement person, or would be great for a trim carpenter relying on quality tools for a quality job. The saw came ready to use, with a good 12" carbide tipped blade.

This saw is so good that I had to post a review.
br /It is extremely accurate and very powerful! I built a whole deck with it this summer. I am also using in all the home theater projects I am taking up now.
br /
br /The twin lasers are a godsend...actually those are a MUST. DONT accept anything lesser. Also make sure that the laser beams are adjustable (this one's are) Lastly the electric brake saves time.
br /
br /Overall I'd give it 12 out of 10!

Love the laser

I use this saw onsite for mitering crown trim and cutting baseboards. After a little tweaking the lasers are a great help, especially for lining up mitered cuts. Decent saw blade for trim work. Everything is tight with no play.

After reading the various reviews for this saw, I decided it was the right one for me. While I was at Lowes the other day, they had this model (36-322L) on sale for $199. I could not pass it up.

I, like many others I'm sure, did my homework before purchasing this saw. I spent hours at my local home center, and many hours on-line researching miter saws before buying the Delta 36-322L. I feel my diligence paid off. This saw is well built, accurate, and with the blade brake, probably as safe as any miter saw on the market. Delta has always had a reputation for building quality woodworking tools, and this saw is no exception. I did have to make very fine adjustments to the saw out of the box, but the owners manual was easy to understand and follow. Once these adjustments were made, the saw performs flawlessly. The saw would be great without the lasers, but they only make cutting easier. It's super knowing exactly where the blade will cut. The 60 tooth blade that comes with the saw is fine for most applications. But, I do suggest purchasing a finer tooth blade for trimwork. I purchased a 80 tooth Diablo by Freud blade that produces excellent cuts that require little or no sanding.
br /I paired my saw to a PM7000 PortaMate Mitersaw Workcenter by HTC Products. Now I have a great saw and a great place to mount and use it. If you are looking for a mitersaw, don't hesitate to purchase this one. The Delta 36-322L is a high quality saw, and a welcome addition to anyone's shop.

If you want one, get it now.

FYI - After reading many reviews, i decided to purchase a Delta 36-422L. however i could not find one in stock anywhere. I called Delta and was told it was on indefinite hold. I DID NOT ASK IF THIS APPLIES TO THE 322, BUT....Their line of saws is being turned over to DeWalt. I was told the DW716 is the same saw as the 36-422L (looks more like the 322L to me), which i find hard to believe (there are "some design changes"), but at least they are supposedly built on the same line. The DeWalt 716 is also highly rated.

Great saw - set up right out of the box and was cutting in 10 minutes after I mounted it on my Ryobi stand. Excellent and the dual laser makes cutting to precise lengths a breeze.

excellent saw, they are hard to find, but well worth it. The accuracy was close out of the box. I took a few minutes to check the accuracy of the saw and make a few adjustments. After locking down the adjustments it is perfect. The saw is very smooth and cuts effortlessly. The TwinLaser(R) set up is the overall reason for the purchase. I have been a carpeter for 15+ years and have used many miter saws from 10" non-compounds to 12" slides. I still have one of the original laser loc miter saws that Porter Cable stopped making 12+ years ago and it still runs great. I would still like to find a 36-422L for the jobsite, but they are no longer available.

This saw is a workhorse...I haven't used it much for miter cuts, but the cuts are clean and it can handle 6 1/2" boards without any trouble. It would be a 5 star - but I want to see how it handles miter cuts. As of now, it doesn't have any play/wobble at 90 degrees that I've seen in lesser saws. The table is solid and the saw itself is heavy enough not to move around on you while you're working with longer stock.
br /
br /The laser doesn't really help much - other than to rough sight where the blade will cut. I still lower the blade to see where it will make contact with the piece I'm cutting - but it does save some time when you're trying to get it close. Basically, the lines are too wide and a little fuzzy so it's hard to get it dead nuts using just the laser. I doubt any laser sighting system is perfect, though so I wouldn't penalize it for that.

I can't review it because........

Polstein's failed to ship it since it was out of stock and they never bothered to notify me. They said it was shipped but it wasn't until 2 weeks later that I leanred it was out of stock - and I HAD TO MAKE THE CALL TO THEM! After 15 minutes of arguing with a girl who claimed it was shipped, she left me on hold for 12 minutes to tell me it was NOT shipped and it was out of stock and discontinued. Never again would i buy from POLSTEIN'S!
