The best miter saw I have owned

I have purchased, and used to oblivion, several miter saws, including a Ryobi, two from Makita, one from hitachi. I have used friends miter saws from other manufacturers like Dewalt. This Delta 36-422L is simply the best I have ever used. I had just about given up finding one (a non industrial $3000 Omga that is) that was accurate, and would retain that accuracy with use, until I began using this delta. It doesn't have the sliding feature, but cuts nearly the width of my 10" Makita slider. All you get with even the best sliders is about 1-2" of additional cross cut (that I didn't really need) and a horrendous loss of accuracy. Go to your local hardware store and pull each of those sliders out to mid extension and then push from side to side, and you'll see that they will move several mm in each direction. Try it with this Delta and you'll find that it is rock solid by comparison. Those sideways forces are exerted on the blade each time the blade enters dense wood, or you fail to push down perfectly even on the handle. The laser guides are very fine lines (about a fine pencil line width) and can be set right on the edges of the blade. I have set it once, and never had to touch it since. I have stopped bothering with using squares to create crosscut lines and bringing the carbide teeth down to the line to set up each cut. I just don't need to anymore. I am quite pleased with this saw, and would not hesitate to purchase another.

I originally didn't plan to spend this much on a miter saw, but I'm glad I did.
br /There are several 12 inch compound saws, but I chose this model for the twin lasers and the crown clips. They both work well, and were worth the price.
br /Quick set up. Good directions. No adjustments needed.

I Have been a cabinet maker for 30 years! Best saw I have Ever Own! Better than dewalt or makita or bosch! If you do a lot of crown molding at $6.00 A Foot which is fare; not including material you will be a happy carpenter! just call me Dusty

This saw is more than I expected.I own or have owned many miter saws and this Delta and my makita LS1214L 12 inch slider are by far the best of the bunch. I am surprised at the great price VS performance and overall build quality, I build high end cabs and furniture and top of the line trim work on homes and I picked this up because of the built in flip down/up crown stops and the cut capacity is fantastic completely blows away the Dewalt I recently picked up a 718 and returned it it felt very cheap. And although the stock blade that comes with this Delta is not my choice for precision cutting it is one of the better as far as included blades.Delta scores again with this one, just ordered the extension tables(2)one for the right and left even though I use a mobile saw stand I like the idea of the milled aluminum tables close to the blade also just ordered the work clamp..I'll never let this one go!

This saw is by far the best I'ever used. I had a 10" Robyi for over 15 years and it was fine until I broke the switch. I had my eyes on a new 12" saw. The price is great on the Delta and it worked very well right out of the box. It has more power than my previous saw and the double laser feature is great. I was thrilled using the laser on the first cut and it was great! I feel that I have purchased an excellent product for now and the future. I also recomed the Dewalt DW723 miter saw stand. It fits the saw perfectly and mounts in about 3 minutes. The stand is a must have for the weight of the saw and the balance is great. You can remove the saw off the stand in one minute and place it on a counter to continue cutting because the mount has small legs on it. I bought the stand at a big box depot store for the same price as on line. I hope this article is helpful to all.
Love those Lasers

Delta quality and innovation, what else is there...
br /Until you use the dual lasers you can't appreciate how much guessing it takes away.
br /I was considering a sliding miter saw to replace my radial arm, but decided that this one would do everything I needed with fewer alignment issues.
br /I did have to tweak the laser adjustment but following the instructions was very easy. The rest of the saws settings were tight and right-on the money.
br /The blade cuts smoothly for everything I have done, but will probably move up to a Forrest when it's time to replace.

This saw is incredible!!! I'm a finish carpenter and I depend on accuracy and this saw delivers. The crown stops built into the table are very sturdy when set up and help out so much more then I every thought. I cut crown twice as fast as I used to and when you do that all day that labor adds up quick . The rear blade guard goes back to allow huge base to be cut against the fence. The bevel is so easy to adjust thanks to the bevel lock positioned in the front. The lasers are great to but I turn them off when doing those 1/64" cuts but it will split your pencil line in half. There are two dislikes because I'm never satisfied with my tools but the first thing is delta should mount the motor above the handle like the bosch when cutting 7 1/2 crown in position and large base the motor gets in the way and two make this saw a little more powerful. It does have enough power for basics but when Im cross-cutting hardwood 6"+ flat it does bog and shim and is a little frustrating when you're smoking your blades. Stock blade is not so good as with any saw go get a forrest or frued. I am extremely happy with my purchase and it does what it was designed to do very well, cut molding. If you want accuracy and do a lot of finish work get this saw if you want to make alot of crosscuts get a slider.
