Good working as any dewalt I ever used. Great ease of setup to correct for trueness of all cuts. Dont expect to be dead on right out of the box, mine was off 1/4 of a degreee on the vetical cut and was noticable when cutting a 4x4 block when checking squareness.

br /No problems with the item being reconditined. It looks and works like a brand new item.
br /
br /I only question the blade quality because after a short amount of usage I'm getting a lot of chip-out on the backside of my cuts when cutting solid pine and plywood. I expect some but the amount varies and is not consistant between materials. I have not cut enough quantity dull the blade for the current amount that I'm seeing. As with my other tools I'm switching to a Freud blade for all my finish work and keeping the dewalt blade for framing.

MY LAST MITER SAW (for good reasons)

This replaced my good quality 10" after doing some crown molding. With this 12" Dually I can get my hands in close, the larger, sliding fences give me more options. It's a lot quieter than my old saw, and the 12" blade lets me do my kind of work without investing in a "slider". Incidentally, I bought this DeWalt #706 reconditioned - It had a ding on the base which didn't affect its accuracy as it was 100% square right out of the box!

I figured I take the chance on the reconditioned 706. It works great, cuts thru molding like a hot knife thru butter. If it wasn't for the little sticker that says reconditioned I'd swear it was brand new. Could not beat the price either, about half what a new saw with the same features would have cost. * If you are a molding newbie make sure to get a dual bevel saw other wise you'll end up in mitter cut hell *

This saw has been great. It was true out of the box. It is easy to see the cut mark. I purchased this to cut 7.5" pine siding. It handled the cuts with no problem and no tear out.

br /What a bargain having dual bevel. This is a nice deluxe model and made putting up crown molding up a CINCH!
br /Only wish it has a laser line designation

Excellent tool. Esthetically and functionally I couldn't distinguish from a new tool. I didn't give five stars because I think the durst collector could be better designed. Everything else is five star.

Buy a smaller sliding miter saw instead

Purchased this 12" compound miter saw on the reccomendation of a friend and I regret that now. The saw itself is ok. It is easy to adjust, smooth to use, and has plenty of power to cut framing lumber. However, I find this saw to be WAY too big for my needs. Iyt is big, very heavy, and the base is very deep making it hard to fit on a miter saw stand. Instead I wish I had bought an 8", or perhaps 10", compound SLIDING miter saw.

br /I bought the reconditioned saw (no longer available at this time) and after a few weeks, mind has developed a bad crack in the cast aluminum base. I haven't fingiured out what I am going to do with that yet - presumably bring it to dewalt for repair. In any case, I would not buy this saw again.
