The gear housings can be rotated in any direction. The rear gear housing adjusts as much as 180 degrees in either direction with 13 positive stop locations for close quarters cutting. The front gear house rotates a full 360 degrees in either direction with 12 positive stops. With the rear gear housing adjusted to 90 degrees, the full length of the unit is only 8-1/2-inches, making cutting between rafters and wall joists possible with a standard 6-inch blade.
