I bought this same saw about a year ago at Lowes, I paid something like $150 for it. It's a great saw, really smooth and comfortable to use. Works great for cutting trim boards, but I've also used it as a chop saw to cut 2x6's, it doesn't bog down one bit when cutting larger stock. It's a little heavy, but to me that just means it's built better. It's also quiet compared to other miter saws I've used. This is definitely a great deal! I'm almost tempted to buy a second as a backup!

I received this saw as a Christmas present in 2007. I've used it nearly every other weekend since, and the only complaint I have is with the manual. This was my first miter saw so I wanted to be sure that it was put together correctly, but the instructions were nearly incomprehensible. But, since I'm a guy and am used to not reading directions (j/k) I figured it out eventually.
br /
br /This saw is very powerful relative to other models in this price range. I had looked at the Dewalt saws, but didn't really think the quality of construction was the same since Black Decker bought them out a few years back. I've used this to cut 4x4" treated posts and it slices through them like a hot knife through butter, with no motor lag at all. The sawdust catch-bag is a nice feature, but doesn't catch it all. I wasn't expecting it to, and having ANY of it get caught is a plus, and simply less clean up for me once the project is finished.
br /
br /After receiving this saw, I did some research and found out that all Hitachi power tools have a 5 year limited warrantee. I've blown through 3 drills - 1 Skil, 2 Black Deckers (guess I didn't learn) - on my trip to the Hitachi brand, and will never buy anything but Hitachi tools from here on out. I would recommend this tool to anyone that is looking for a professional quality tool at a decent price.

Decent saw, 1st one arrived broken had to replace

The saw works well and is good for the price. The cast body base isn't very thick and the first saw arrived broken, cracked and bent near the hole in the corner where the saw gets bolted to a workbench. This may be because it ships in a small factory box that then gets put inside another huge generic brown cardboard box for shipping with plenty of room to bang around inside. One or two small pieces of brown packing paper are loosely put around the factory box but there's tons of sloppy room between the boxes and the corners of the factory box arrived crushed both times. This kept me waiting on a project for a few days and that pissed me off. Amazon shipped me a new one for free and sent UPS to pick up the broken one. Time is money though, and this poor secondary packaging wasted my time. Luckily the 2nd saw was intact and immediately put to use.
br /
br /The instructions aren't very good, I would have appreciated knowing that the compound angle tightening thread on the handle that locks the angle once you set it is a reverse thread.
br /
br /Other than the poor shipping and mediocre instructions the saw itself works great, I am doing door and window casings and baseboard trim with it.

All it said it would be and more.

This saw is unusually well made, sturdy, powerful, accurate. I am a retired building contractor and this is one of the best values I've seen.

Picked this up for 99 bucks (price fluctuates often so just throw it into your shopping cart and wait for that deal to come up). Bought an Irwin laser guide for about 20 bucks and I'm ready for my job. This one is made in China (not Japan) but my expectations are for the occasional homeowner use, not for contractor duty and I am very pleased. Sure beats the plastic Ryobis sold at HD for the same price. Cheap Craftsman miter with the wrongly aligned stick on angle guage (are you kidding me) don't compare too. Best comparison is the entry level Dewalt but that one comes in at at 200 so this is half price for about the same performance. Great for cutting 2x4 and wood laminate panels (though you have to flip the board for the final cut) without motor bogging down. That's where the laser guide helps with perfect cuts. 40 tooth blade trims true, great for being free. My 80 tooth laminate blade is almost the cost of the saw. Yes.. the dust bag is pretty much useless, it catches just the ultrafine particles, all the rest of the debris is around you.

A quality Hitachi product.

This was my first miter/chop saw and I looked around alot before buying it. I compared Dewalt 723, Craftsman and couple of other models from home depot.
br /
br /Dewalt was twice as expensive ($209) and Craftsmans from Sears was pretty darn cheap and althoug you could buy a sliding compound miter for less that $200, the quality wasn't good. There were many complaints about cheap plastic parts and even cheaper angle/cut quality. Other Ryobi and Makita were similar to Hitachi and Dewalt, but werent' that popular and couldn't find many reviews.
br /
br /After all this analysis and talking to couple of contractors, they suggested that Hitachi is equally good and I ended up ordering one from amazon.
br /
br /I arrived in 2 days (with free shipping) and since the blades are new you could you use it to cut moulding right out of the box. But may be when you cut 2x4s for few months, you might need a newer blade with more teeths. The construction of the saw itself is strong and it comes with few accessories.
br /
br /Dust bag isn't very useful as it captures only part of the dust, but that's true with all other brands as well. I haven't tried mounting it on a stand, but have heard people complain about incompatibility with Dewalt miter stand.
br /
br /Used it couple of time for miter and compound miter, and all the angles were perfect with fine cuts.
br /
br /I highly recommed this saw.
br /
br /BTW, its cheap @ $125, but the price here fluctuates alot and I was able to get it for $99 + taxes + free shipping.

This is my first Miter Saw, and I love it. Works great, has plenty of power and the 10-in blade gives it enough flexibility for larger stock. Blade never slows down and just powers through the wood. It is so easy to adjust the angles. What a great price Amazon offers, plus free shipping. I would have liked to have seen a finer toothed blade / more teeth, but oh well. I guess for most projects the blade is good, but I use it for detail work. Comes with the clamp which is nice, and compound feature will come in handy.

We return this product for having a broken part. Amazon replaced it and we do appreciate the work they have done. It came back again with a broken bolt hole that attaches to the table. The packaging of this product is very poor and does not protect the product . We did not return it after we received it for the second time we should have but no time. the miter itself is ok.

I used this saw to install a very hard stranded bamboo floor (over 3000 on the janka scale), and when cutting the bamboo, the saw only bogged down slightly.. everything else I've cut with it is no problem at all! Hold out for 99$ price, and with free shipping, it pays for itself in no time.
br /Not sure why the description STILL says this unit has a laser.. it doesn't.
br /Packing is a bit lacking, though my saw arrived in good shape.

Received the Hitachi C10FCE2 yesterday after a longer wait than usual from Amazon. But still within the window they specify.
br /
br /Assembled the saw accessories in about 5 minutes (flip over fence, rear stabilizer bar, and hold down) and took it out to my shop. First up was a standard pine 2x4. Plugged in the saw and gave the trigger a pull. The first thing I noticed as a nice soft start mechanism, very nice. The blade started spinning and had little to no vibration. I love the horizontal anti vibe handle. Pulled the saw down and cut through the 2x4 like a hot knife through butter. I was impressed at this price point. Next up were some miter cuts. 52 degrees left and right, no problem. The indicator is very thin which makes for more exacting measurements, again very nice. Next up, bevel. Went to 45 degrees, gave the handle a tug and i had a clean 45 degree bevel. Checked the angles and they were spot on, right from the factory. I cut 2x6's, stacked 2 2x4's, and stacked 2 2x6's and it cut them without any problems or bogging down. This saw will cut 4x4 posts no problem at 90 degrees.
br /
br /With the 5 year warrantee and a saw that performs like this you can't go wrong at $99.00 with free shipping.

My husband loves his new saw. He's in construction so needs it often. On the other hand the shipping dept. needs to be looked into. I'm suprised it made it here in great shape, the box was to flimsey for the product and was falling apart when it arrived.

Needed a chop saw and as always, the 1st place I go to is Amazon. I had my mind set on a different saw, but when I was scrolling about, this Hatachi popped up @ a third of the price of any, plus free shipping, and a gob of accessories. It got to me in 4 days, a third of the expected $, and free shipping. Bonus!! I personally have great luck with Amazon. I don't think I'm alone. When ever I need anything, I look forward to researching and buying whatever it is on Amazon because saving money and having the best selection is as good as it gets! If you've never made a purchase on Amazon, try it, I'm not getting compensated for this, I'm being honest. Spending my hard earned doe on Amazon, empowers my spending dollar, in this case by 3-fold. Oh ya, the saw is fantastic! jeff

This is not the same saw you get from LOWES. I bought the Lazer guided saw from Lowes for $99.00. and bought this one for backup because the bearings wear out in about 6 mos of everyday use.So I get the new saw out and first off the holes to mount the saw do not line up so it cannot be mounted on my Dewalt saw stand. Then I notice the saw is not cutting true with what seams to be blade woble.I look at the blade and see there are at least Three Carbide teeeh missing from the blade.I will Never buy another Hitachi product again! It's not the same product as It was 10yrs ago.The cordless drill I bought, the gears striped out withen a day.Contractors Stay Away!
